It is very important where employees work. People arrange their working places before starting their job, but their individual arrangements are not usually fulfilled. Companies specify that they can order their employees to transfer if necessary in a working rule and a labor agreement, suggesting the possibility of a transfer. Unless you join a company at a designated work place, you will accept a transfer after receiving documents such as a working rule. There are several gorges of more than 100 meters deep at Tanohatake Village in Iwate Prefecture. The village was called a solitary island on the land before several decades when a bridge was erected at a deep gorge. There are some slopes with a strange name such as Shian slope and Jisyoku slope. Shian means hesitating in English. Jisyoku means resigning in English. According to people in the village, these strange names were given to slopes in either the Meiji Era or the Taisyo Era. Public officials in the prefecture government visited the village for the first time. When they looked at the first deep gorge, they hesitated over whether they should go or return. When they looked at the second deeper gorge, they would rather resign their occupation than crossed it. These are the reason why strange names were given to slopes.
